Movacolor has developed a LAN system to connect several Movacolor dosing units to one data collection system. This system enables simultaneous data-logging of all units connected to the system, and to exchange data between the units. The system also provides management information on the consumption of the individual dosing units, and about the productivity of the plastics production machines connected. The dosing units record every start and stop, production speed, cycle times, etc. The data is displayed in well-organized icons, graphs and tables. When an operating MC-30, Balance or Multi-Component system is connected to a PC that uses Windows XP, the browser allows permanent monitoring of the units. The system also allows data uploading and downloading. Users can enter the data buffer of the equipment and download the latest production data. These can be imported into a spreadsheet and interpreted by the user. If the PC is permanently connected, the PC will serve as a data logger, as the storage capacity of the equipment is limited.
